Cambridge Wood Works has been set up by local businesses Prospect Row LLP and Flux Dynamics Ltd
We are affiliated to the National Community Wood Recycling Project (NCWRP).
There are now 24 other schemes like ours around the UK
We are very grateful for the start up funding we have received.
UnLtd gave us a Level 1 award which helped us get set up. The award went towards the purchase of our van and to pay for insurance. Their continued support has been and invaluable resource to us.
Cambridge City Council awarded us a Sustainable Cities Grant. This also went towards our van, as well as tools and equipment and IT.
The Development Trusts Association awarded us a Cultivating Enterprise grant to help us purchase workshop equipment. They’ve written a case study about us too
The co-operative enterprise hub gave us a package of support to help us get registered as a Community Interest Company with a co-operative management structure. They’ve also written a case study about us and have helped raise awareness about us through the media.
We have also been working with many other voluntary sector groups, helping us to deliver education and training opportunites to disadvantaged adults in Cambridgeshire
