We like to show you what either we or our customers have made from our reclaimed timber, but every now and again we meet someone who just takes it all to another level.
Richard Simpson started using reclaimed wood to make furniture, sourcing his material from our colleagues in Brighton & Hove, who have been reusing waste wood for community benefit for just over 14 years now.
These pieces are all made exclusively from reclaimed timber.
Richard says: “I find that reclaimed wood presents some interesting and unusual challenges, but it gives me a great deal of pleasure to think of timber being loved for a further 100 years rather than becoming land-fill, so I’m always looking for interesting projects to to take on…”
Richard has a workshop near Bassingbourn, and can be contacted on 07754 650135. Some of our customers, who may have more ambitious designs on our stock of reclaimed wood here at Cambridge Wood Works, might like to get in touch with him to see what he can do.
More details can be found on his website: www.simpsoncarpentry.com
